McMinnville Aircraft Modelers will host a Swap Meet on March 14, 2009
at Yamhill County Fairgrounds in McMinnville, Oregon. For the past
three years this swap meet was billed as “McMinnville Collecto and Swap
Meet”. Noel Martin hosted it. I will be hosting the Swap Meet
this year. This event has gained momentum each year and has become very
successful. Last year we rented 60 tables. We admitted about 90 people
(not including vendors) for a total of about 200 people. Swap meets are
a fun and enjoyable part of model aviation. They provide opportunities
for modelers to get together and visit and share our great hobby. Swap
meets also provide a chance to find good deals or sell models we are
not flying.

The Second Annual CubNuts 2008
CubNuts for 2008 begins on Friday September 19th and runs through
Saturday September 20th. Please
check CubNuts 2008
for a complete information package. CubNuts 2008
is a "Fun Fly" AMA sanctioned event. All pilots will be
required to show a current AMA card at registration. Event management
reserves the write to ground any airplane or pilot that may be
considered unsafe. There are a
limited number of "dry" camping sites available for tents
and motor homes. There is no electrical, sewer or water hookups. All
campers are asked to pack out your garbage. All radio
frequencies will be controlled during the event. 2.4ghz
radios are welcome.

Oct 11th There is a
Oktoberfest at Myrtle Creek Airport next weekend on the
11th, Saturday. There will be buddy box flying to invite
spectators to try out model flying. There will be some fun
fly time and a candy drop. There will be hot air balloons at the
other end of the airport for rides at a small fee. Parking is
